Idemili River cuts across towns like Obosi, Ogidi and Ojoto, in Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra state. The name, Idemili, was derived from the river, while the snake called Eke Idemili (Idemili python) lives in the river. The people of Idemili regard the snake as a representative of their deity and therefore, a custodian of their culture and tradition.
